Oh my stars…January’s movie night at the Rector First Baptist Church for the Children’s Church was January 26 @ 6.   We enjoyed pizza, chips and drinks!   Of course Joey Pruett is always quietly surprising me and he showed up with a birthday cake and gifts for me!! If you do not know Joey and Janice Pruett, you need to make a point too!!! They are awesome!!   The movie we watched was “Miracle Dogs II”.   I purchased this movie from Lifeway in Jonesboro and it was outstanding.   The movie has to be pretty interesting to hold the interest of 18 children ranging in age from 5 years old to sixth grade. The movie starts out with STEVE URKEL, Jaleel White and his buddy “Borrowing a car”, what they didn’t know was that there were two MIRCALE DOGS in the back.   They drop the dogs in the woods and then things start going wrong for the two car “borrowers”.   Jaleel knows some of the things they are doing are not right but his buddy keeps pressuring him to make bad decisions.   This story alo

Oh my stars....Chalkboard paint!!!

Oh my stars…..I love always coming up with new ways to make our Children’s Church room, more inviting to the kiddos.   I am always writing notes and sending them home with the children, but I never really know if the parents get them…so, I decided to make a wall calendar.   I don’t know about you but I have been dying to use chalkboard paint!!!   When I decided to paint our class room the bright green I got the bright idea to make a wall calendar and with all the cool designs of duct tape out there now I could change the calendar during the year with all the cool duct tape.   Here is a picture of our wall calendar.   I put the monthly activities on the calendar and the children are welcomed to put their birthdays on the calendar too!   This year for Christmas we purchased “Jesus Calling” a devotional book for children and on the calendar for February I included the daily scripture from the devotional.   I don’t know about you but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!

Oh my stars....Never give up!!

Never Give Up!! Nothing is impossible for God! Luke 1:37 I am always with you and for you.  I am your biggest fan.  When you decide to do something that fits My plans for you, nothing in heaven or on earth can stop you.  You may face some problems along the way to your goal-that is part of living in an imperfect world.  But never give up!  With My help, you can conquer any problems. But don't just rush headlong toward you goal, trying to make things happen when you want them to.  First, come to Me.  Ask Me to guide you every step of the way, minute by minute.  Let Me set the pace.  Sometimes I may ask you to wait, or to slow down, or even to stop for a while.  But remember, My timing is perfect.  Trust Me and enjoy sharing the journey with Me. Love, Jesus Oh my stars....no wonder I set goals, run toward them with my head high, strong and fast, smiling and waving at everyone along the way, only to roll my ankle, stumble, gather myself, start up again only to fall and roll t

Jesus Calling January 8, 2013

So, I feel a little sorry for myself today! I can feel the depression setting in and I know that God is calling me, asking me and wanting me to count on Him more today and the rest of the year.  I have gained 20 of 65 pounds that I lost back!!! Why did I let that happen??  Last week I pulled out some of my cookbooks and starting reviewing new dishes that sound like they were tasty and low fat, low calorie (which usually means bland!).  But to my suprise the first three I have made were not bad, of course for those of you that know me, I changed the recipe, just a little.  I thought I would share those with you.  Also, in the mornings we have started Jillian Michaels, Get Ripped in 30, which is a great workout.  Get Ripped is a circurt training video, which has a warm-up, 3 circurts which include 3 minutes of strenght training, 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abs, and then the cool down.  We will see what I say in 30 days. Before I share the new tasty recipes with you I wanted to
