Oh My Stars...Where is the land that God has given you?? Bro. Ron Sanders was talking about reading his chronological Bible last Sunday and it got me to thinking about mine, so I pulled it out and opened it to March 25 daily reading which was Deuteronomy 26:1 – 29:2, but I didn’t make it that far because the first two verses grabbed hold of me tightly.   Deuteronomy 26 (New International Version)   When you have entered the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance and have taken possession of it and settled in it, 2  take some of the firstfruits of all that you produce from the soil of the land the Lord your God is giving you and put them in a basket. OH MY STARS.....How did I fall of the wagon!! Oh my stars....how did I fall of the wagon!   In the summer of 2006 we took a group of teenagers to Mexico on a mission trip and since I am the photographer there are not many pictures of me on this trip.   I was looking through them one day and noticed a woman with one of the beautiful people we were handing out beans and rice to and did not recognize her, upon further observation I realized that woman as me!!   How did I let myself get that big?   I weighed right at 210#! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!   I could see my belly filling out my T-shirt.   Fat roll!   What happen?   I knew I had to take control of this before it turned into something a lot worse, like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, back problems, knee problems and the list just goes on and on.   So I began a new journey; not really a weight loss journey but a healthier living journey.   Over the next 2 years I lost 60# through exercise, eating right and seeking

 Oh my stars!!!  Whatta a night full of fun, laughes, food, crafts, movies and some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's!  Our theme for the evenig was the LORD'S PRAYER, Matthew 6:9-14.  We had 31 young people who came prepared to stay up all night, 5 youth group members, and several outstanding parents.  We started the evening off by reading and talking about the rules!  I know we hate rules, but these are pretty easy:  BE KIND TO EACH OTHER AND LISTEN TO THE ADULTS.  If you can not keep these rules, we would call the parents, didn't matter what time it was, your parents would come and get you!  BUT, of course, all these kiddo's were wonderful.  I am so blessed to be part of their lives and that God has allowed me to teach them how awesome God is to us.  The above pictures are an object lesson about the reaction our words have and the powerful effects our words have, our prayers mixed with praising our LORD causes reactions.  BIG reactions!   Next we cooked. 

EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!! LOCK-IN!! K-6 at the Rector First Baptist Church!! It is exciting that our children get excited about church! This lock in is about teaching our children about how much God loves us and how we can show HIM how much we love HIM! The Lord's Prayer is our theme tonight and we will be playing games, some are messy and fun!! Wear old clothes! Crafts, so we will remember to talk HIM daily! We will be dying eggs talking about Easter! Watching a movie! Eating! Remember we want kids! Kids from New Life; kids from the Church of Christ; kids from the Methodist Church; kids from the General Baptist Church; kids from every church BUT more than that we want children who are not going to church to come and learn about Christ and all he has done for us! If you are helping me tonight, I would love for you to be at church by 8:30 so we can have prayer time and recieve instructions!
