Oh my stars....Chalkboard paint!!!

Oh my stars…..I love always coming up with new ways to make our Children’s Church room, more inviting to the kiddos.  I am always writing notes and sending them home with the children, but I never really know if the parents get them…so, I decided to make a wall calendar.  I don’t know about you but I have been dying to use chalkboard paint!!!  When I decided to paint our class room the bright green I got the bright idea to make a wall calendar and with all the cool designs of duct tape out there now I could change the calendar during the year with all the cool duct tape.  Here is a picture of our wall calendar.  I put the monthly activities on the calendar and the children are welcomed to put their birthdays on the calendar too!  This year for Christmas we purchased “Jesus Calling” a devotional book for children and on the calendar for February I included the daily scripture from the devotional.  I don’t know about you but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!

Oh my stars…… The Rebuild Renew & Restore Women’s Group met last night and what a treat we received!! We decided we wanted to start each meeting out with 15 minutes of exercise, which Darlene and I did, we worked our arms, legs and abs.  After the brief exercise class we loaded in Darlene’s car and drove across town to meet with one of the most remarkable women I have ever known, Jane Holifield. Jane knew we were coming, and I told her NO EATS and NO DRINKS! We just worked out!! I had asked Jane to prepare a short devotion, scripture, or a story in order for us to get to know her a little better. Jane told us about a women she had just read about in her Mature Living from Lifeway, Aileen Coleman, the Desert Rat to the Arab World. It was so nice to listen to the excitement in her voice as she told us all about Aileen Coleman and how she never married, how she worked in Bethlehem as a nurse and how God used her and all the decisions she made to glorify HIM.  Mrs. Jane was...

Here we go again and again and again and again......

Here we are, beginning another New Year.  This year I am going to be better, lose 15 pounds, read my Bible daily, plan our dinners and budget our money better than last year….OOOO that was last year! And the year before that and the year before that. Isn’t that how we all think?  If I could just lose some weight.  If I could just read my Bible every day.  If I could just plan our meals I would save money and lose weight!  If I could budget my money better I would be able to give to those special last minute offerings at church or help a family in need, BUT I purchased items that were on sale and I really didn’t need.  By the time I get up in the mornings at 5 am; drive to town to exercise with the girls at 5:30 for 30 to 45 minutes, drive back home, shower, have a cup of coffee, listen to the news, get back in my truck, drive back to town, go to the post office, then to the Gin office, drive to Kennett, go to that post office, go to two different banks to ...
